About Kristen

Kristen was born in Baton Rouge and raised in Gonzales, and she has been in Ascension Parish ever since. She started out at Turner Industries handling timekeeping and tracking, then moved into an administrative role with the parish schools on the early childhood side, and Converge is where those two halves came together. Her parents are from Mexico, and she is bilingual in English and Spanish. She found her way here sideways: she had applied somewhere else, a recruiter told her to go talk to Marcel anyway, and she ended up around a table with Marcel and Jana for a conversation that felt less like an interview than a fit.

Kristen keeps Marcel organized and the projects on track. She handles client communication, invoicing, and time tracking, and she sits down with Marcel to plan where hours should go on a project and then watches whether the real work matches the plan. She is in it from the scope stage forward. Her own description of the role is the nice one who is also always poking you, and the deal she offers is simple: give her a little information and she will make the rest of it easier. What surprised her coming in from the outside was how fast people here drop what they are doing when a client needs something, which she says is not what you get from a company big enough to hand you a support bot. Outside of work Kristen is a PC gamer, a reader, and the person in the room who somehow knows a random fact about whatever you happen to be talking about.
