We only work in construction.
Years ago we decided everything outside construction had to go. Those were good clients, but we couldn't get deep enough in two directions at once.
Converge is a Viewpoint Vista consulting firm in Baton Rouge. We implement Vista and Trimble Construction One, build the financial reporting that sits on top of it, write the custom apps and integrations it doesn't come with, and help clean up the back-office process around it. Our clients are contractors, generally somewhere between $50 million and a couple billion in revenue, and construction is the only industry we work in.
We want contractors to see their numbers early enough to act on them.
A job that's bleeding at 4 or 8 percent complete can still be fixed. You change the crew, change the sequence, or go have the conversation with the owner. At 50 or 75 percent complete you're mostly watching it happen. Everything we set up in Vista is meant to get that news to you sooner.
Marcel Lemoine spent 8 years auditing contractors at a Baton Rouge CPA firm, then went to work for one as controller and CFO to see the industry from the other side of the table. He opened his own firm in 2004.
In 2013 a client asked him to run their Viewpoint implementation. Partway through it, one of the Viewpoint people told him he should become a partner, and in 2015 we did.
Then 8 years at a Baton Rouge CPA firm with a heavy construction client list.
Went to work for a contractor and sat through a capital raise and a system implementation.
Outsourced CFO and controller work for contractors.
A client asked the firm to project-manage their Viewpoint implementation. It ran 8 or 9 months.

We don't subcontract. Your Vista consultant, payroll specialist, and developers are Converge employees who have worked together before.
One of our consultants came up with the phrase and it stuck. Behind it is a go-live readiness checklist we work through item by item before anything switches over.
We're still around for your first few closes, which is usually when the hard questions show up.
Everybody stubs their toe on something. If you're going to be a client for 10 or 15 years, charging you for our learning curve is a bad trade.
We've turned down work we wanted when we couldn't staff it well. On an implementation we're in your building for a year or more, so we'd rather say so up front.
If you're running Vista, moving to it, or sitting with reporting you don't trust, call the office. We'll tell you straight whether we're the right firm for it.
